Drapanos

Drapanos is a peaceful and friendly Cretan village with stunning views of the White Mountains – snow capped from November to June.

Some of the inland village also has sea views, across Souda Bay to the Akrotiri peninsula.

There are two churches, a mini market and two tavernas; one offering home cooked traditional dishes, the other has a swimming pool.

At Ombrogialos, a short but winding drive down to sea, there is a small cove, popular for swimming and snorkelling off the rocks in the crystal clear water.

The nearby larger villages of Vamos and Kefalas offer a wider range of facilities and amenities. The beautiful sandy beaches of Almirida & Kalives are a short drive away.

The main towns of Chania & Rethymno are a 40 minute journey, Chania airport is 50 minutes by car.
